The Act for Climate Justice initiative – ActionAid Denmark, CAN International, Natural Justice, Oxfam and Recourse – leverages our collective strengths across local, national, regional, and global levels. Some contribute an extensive member network, convening power, thematic breadth, and agility in advocacy, while other brings deep local presence, implementation capacity, trusted financial systems, and strong relationships with communities, rights holders and decision-makers. Together, we bridge grassroots realities with high-level policymaking and enable rapid impact through joint initiatives grounded in rights-based, intersectional approaches. Evidence-based research from within the coalition strengthens movement-led advocacy, while influence in international spaces complements strong national engagement. By combining grassroots mobilization, policy expertise, and public campaigning, the Act for Climate Justice initiative offers scalability and people power to advance justice-oriented climate action.
Learning, Innovation and Knowledge for Climate Justice
Our multi-country Climate Justice initiative is designed as a learning system—one that continuously adapts, innovates, and scales proven approaches. Climate Justice requires context-specific solutions and agile implementation. We therefore combine structured learning, flexible funding, and strong regional partnerships to ensure responsiveness and impact to achieve climate justice
Continuous Learning and Adaptation
Learning underpins every part of our work. We reflect together, share knowledge, and analyze real-world evidence to identify what works, why it works, and how it can be strengthened. We listen to people on the ground, to capture their experiences, monitor impact and learn together. We use these insights to refine our strategies and inform decisions that are made at regional and global levels.
Flexible Funding for Innovation
We deploy flexible funding mechanisms that allow resources to flow directly to where we see the greatest potential. This enables us to:
By maintaining flexibility in funding, we can respond quickly to emerging opportunities, support experimentation, and integrate lessons as they arise—ensuring an adaptive and evidence-driven approach throughout the project cycle.
Regional Focal Points and Local Alignment
Our regional focal points act as connectors between local actors and the wider Act for Climate Justice initiative. They ensure alignment with regional priorities, facilitate knowledge exchange, and strengthen collaboration among civil society, research institutions, and policy stakeholders. This structure keeps decision-making close to where change happens, while enabling strategic coherence across countries.
From Learning to Scalable Impact
Successful innovations are documented, shared, and scaled responsibly. Scaling focuses on institutional uptake and policy integration rather than replication, ensuring that approaches remain context-appropriate and equitable.
By linking learning, innovation, and flexible financing, we create a dynamic system that can adapt to complexity, accelerate promising solutions, and advance Climate Justice at local, regional, and global levels.
