Act for Climate Justice is a joint initiative co-led by Oxfam Novib and CAN International, in partnership with ActionAid Denmark, Natural Justice and Recourse. Together, we form a strong and diverse alliance grounded in climate justice, human rights, and the power of social movements.

Act for Climate Justice is located at the Hague in the Netherlands, is responsible for the processing of personal data as described in this Privacy Statement. This includes the website and services operated or provided by Act for Climate Justice.

Act for Climate Justice processes your personal data because you use our services and/or because you provide this information to us yourself.

2. Special and/or sensitive personal data that we process

Our website and/or service does not intend to collect data on website visitors who are younger than 16, unless they have permission from their parents or guardian. However, we cannot verify whether a visitor is over 16 years of age. We therefore recommend that parents be involved in the online activities of their children in order to prevent data being collected on children without parental permission. If you are convinced that we have collected personal data on a minor without such consent, please contact us through the contact page and we will delete this information.

3. For what purpose and on what basis do we process personal data?

Act for Climate Justice processes your personal data for the following purposes:

• To be able to call you or send you an e-mail if this is necessary to perform our services.
• To inform you about changes in our services.
• To inform you about our services.

Act for Climate Justice also processes personal data if we are legally obliged to do so, such as data that we need for our tax return.

4. How long we retain personal data

Act for Climate Justice retains your personal data as long as necessary in connection with the purpose for which the information is processed, or as long as there is a valid reason to retain your personal data. For example, to comply with legal obligations.

5. Sharing of personal data with third parties

There are a number of trusted third parties with whom we may share your personal data. These include:

Law enforcement or government agencies when they have taken legal action to ask us to disclose the information.
External providers of services to Act for Climate Justice, such as web analytics tools from Google.
Social networks. If you are logged on to one of these social networks during your visit to our website, or communicate via one of the social plug-ins, the social network may, based on your privacy settings, add this data to your corresponding profile on this network. If you wish to prevent such sharing of your data, please log out of your social network before visiting or using our site. If possible, you can also change the privacy settings. 7. Reviewing, modifying or deleting data

You have the right to inspect, correct or remove your personal data. In addition, you have the right to withdraw your consent for data processing or to object to the processing of your personal data by Act for Climate Justice and you have the right to data portability.

You can send a request for access, correction, deletion, data transfer of your personal data or request to withdraw your consent or objection to the processing of your personal data on our contact page.

To make sure that the request for inspection was made by you, we ask you to send a copy of your proof of identity along with the request. In this copy, please make a black out of your passport photo, MRZ (machine readable zone, the strip with numbers at the bottom of the passport), passport number and Citizen Service Number (BSN). This is to protect your privacy. We will respond to your request as quickly as possible, within four weeks.

Act for Climate Justice would also like to point out that you have the option of submitting a complaint to the national supervisory authority, the Netherlands Data Protection Authority.

On Act for Climate Justice websites, you may find links to other websites. Act for Climate Justice is not responsible for the manner in which those sites handle personal information. Please read the privacy statement of the site you are visiting.

9. How we protect personal information

Act for Climate Justice takes the protection of your personal data seriously and takes appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorised access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorised changes. If you have the impression that your data is not properly secured or there are indications of abuse, please contact us via our contact page.
